Officers investigating a racially aggravated hate crime incident in Bournemouth are issuing a CCTV image of the suspect.

At around 1pm on Friday 11 December 2020 two men entered Starbucks in Commercial Road and ordered drinks, before leaving the store. Around 10 minutes later one of the men returned as he had lost his bank card and accused the store of stealing it.

A staff member advised the man that his card had not been handed in. It is reported that he became verbally abusive and shouted racially aggravated abuse at them.

Police Constable Fran Cullis, of Bournemouth South Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This was an upsetting incident for the victim, who should not have to deal with abuse while carrying out their job.

“Following enquiries I have obtained a CCTV image of the man involved. I would ask anyone who recognises him to please get in touch.”
