Officers investigating a report of assault in Poole are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

At around 3.30pm on Thursday 9 September 2021 it was reported that a man aged in his 60s in a wheelchair was assaulted by another man outside Tesco Express on Poole Quay.

Officers attended and a 39-year-old man, of no fixed abode, was arrested on suspicion of assault. He has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Police Constable Sarah Donnelly, of Poole police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and I would appeal for anyone with information that might assist our enquiries to please come forward.

“I understand there were a number of people in the area at the time of the alleged assault and I would ask anyone who witnessed what happened or may have captured the incident on mobile phone footage to please contact us.”
