Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward as they investigate a road rage incident in North Dorset.

At around 3.40pm on Sunday 20 November 2022 a man aged in his 20s was driving a red Citroen Picasso on the B3081 from Shaftesbury to Gillingham behind a silver Peugeot Partner van.

As they drove toward the access to Port Regis School, the van began to brake sharply before indicating and coming to a stop. The Citroen driver stopped behind and the driver of the van got out and approached his vehicle.

It was reported that he was shouting at the Citroen driver and when he opened the window, he assaulted the victim.

The victim did not sustain any injuries.

The driver of the Peugeot is described as white and six feet tall with short or balding hair and a light-coloured beard.

Police Constable Geraint Craig, of North Dorset police, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this matter and I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please contact us.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.”
