The incident occurred on the A345 between the Jurassic Roundabout and Veasta Rounabout at around 3.40pm on Wednesday 7 April 2021.

The victim was a taxi driver in a yellow and white Renault Traffic and the damage occurred when they passed under the Littlemoor Road bridge. It was reported someone was seen standing on the bridge at the time.

Police Constable Katharine Corbett, of Dorset Police, said: “This was an extremely reckless act that caused damage to the vehicle’s windscreen, but could also have easily caused a serious road traffic collision.

“We are carrying out enquiries into the incident and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed what happened or who has any information that might assist our investigation to please come forward.

“I would also urge anyone who was travelling in the area and has dashcam fitted to their vehicle to please check their footage for anything relevant.”
