Why I Am Not Voting Labour/Why I Am Voting Labour

I have been openly supporting the Labour Party in its attempt to get shot of the foul bane of the tory government and I am now left with a little option but to explain exactly why I am “not” voting Labour….

I am not voting Labour based on the personality of the leader, because this isn’t some stupid banality like voting for the king of the Jungle in I’m a celeb get me out of here.

I am not voting for Mr Corbyn at all because he is not standing in West Dorset.

I am not voting Labour because of my deep burning abhorrence of the tory ethos of “Fuck you I’m alright jack” and the damage they have done to the UK society and their plans to inflict yet more hardship and suffering on those least able to help themselves.

I am not voting Labour because of the Tory internal squabbles which led to the brexit vote.

I am not voting labour based on any single policy issue that may piss me off.

I am not voting Labour because I have been swayed by a hostile predominantly right wing press.

I am not voting Labour because of tradition or a personal tendency to support the underdog.

However,

I “am” voting Labour because it is (imo) beyond doubt, that based purely on “policy alone”, they represent the best opportunity for the future, for my children and their children, and a better society overall.

Their manifesto (imo) represents the best opportunity to begin the slow process of stopping the destructive madness and broken model of society, that has proved after 40+ years to be damaging to the majority of the population and to the benefit of the very few.

(ps however if there was chance of a sensible and long overdue tactical move by Labour and Greens to stand down and give the Lib dem their backing to unseat the tory incumbent Letwin in west Dorset I would, in the interests of future generations, go with it. If not I will be voting the way my head and heart and sense of decency dictate which is Labour).
