Officers searching for a missing man from Bridport would like the public’s help in trying to find him.

Rodney Gay, who is 53 years old, was reported missing at 2.16pm on Saturday 27 February 2021 after he had last been heard from earlier in the day at 7am.

During the last contact with his family he indicated that he was at West Bay being very upset.

Rodney is described as white, five feet 10 inches tall and of medium build. He has short hair, a beard and a moustache that is going grey. He is wearing dark blue jeans, white trainers and a light beige coloured long jacket with pockets in the front and a zip.

Chief Inspector Derek McKerl, of Dorset Police, said: “We are becoming very concerned for Rodney’s welfare as it is very unusual for him not to be in contact with his family for this length of time.

“We have been searching the area including West Bay, but have so far been unable to locate Rodney.

“I am hoping that somebody may have seen him since this morning, which might help to direct our searches.

“Rodney, if you see this appeal, please get in touch with us or your family. We just want to ensure you are safe and well.”

Anyone with information or knowledge as to Rodney’s whereabouts is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email [email protected] or by calling 101, quoting incident number 27:333.
