Serious road traffic collision in Bournemouth – witness appeal

Officers are investigating a serious road traffic collision in Bournemouth and appealing for anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward. 

Dorset Police received a report at around 7pm on Saturday 10 October 2020 of a collision involving a Fiat Abarth 595 Turismo and a cyclist on Wellington Road near to the junction with Beechey Road.

The cyclist – a Bournemouth man aged in his 20s – sustained a head injury and was taken to Poole Hospital for treatment by the ambulance service. His condition is not described as life-threatening.

The driver of the Fiat Abarth was uninjured. 

Police Constable Paul Wilson, of the traffic unit, said: “An investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances surrounding this collision.

“I am appealing to any witnesses who were in the area around the time of the incident and saw what happened to please come forward.

“I would also ask any motorists who were travelling along either Wellington Road or Beechey Road and captured any relevant dashcam footage to please get in touch.”
