Man arrested following sexual assault of woman in her 60’s in Poole

Officers investigating a report of a sexual assault in Poole are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

It was reported that at around 8pm on Thursday 21 October 2021 a woman aged in her 60s was sexually assaulted on North Road, near to the junction with Danecourt Road. It was alleged that a man who was known to her touched her sexually over her clothing. The matter was reported to Dorset Police on Wednesday 17 November 2021.

A local man aged in his 50s has attended for a voluntary police interview and is assisting officers with their ongoing investigation.

Police Constable Alice Beavon, of Poole police, said: “Since receiving this report we have been carrying out a number of enquiries into this incident.

“I appreciate this report occurred some time ago now, but I am appealing to anyone who may recall witnessing the incident, or who may have captured anything relevant on dashcam footage, to please contact us.”
