The Shaftesbury Super Sunday is a brand new monthly artisan market that stretches the length of the high-street on the third Sunday of every month. Founded to showcase the vibrant array of makers, producers, artists and crafters the area proudly boasts, the market offers a unique array of stalls and events and is completely free to attend.

Shaftesbury already benefits from a thriving sense of community which is evident in its busy high-street. With a plethora or flourishing independent shops, bakeries and cafes as well as extremely well supported weekly farmers’ market the Super Sunday adds to the town’s already healthy event schedule.

The market will offer everything for foodies with a huge array of local producers attending. Satisfy your sweet tooth with delights from Barley Sugar Bakehouse, Dark Matters Brownies and Liberty Cakes who all offer beautifully handmade products which are all locally made using only the finest ingredients. If cheese is your weakness you’ll want to make a beeline straight for James’ Cheese and Woolsery Cheese to sample their award-winning cheeses before they get snapped up! You’ll also find a huge variety of preserves including local honey, handmade peanut butter and chilli jam to take home and stock the cupboards with.

Visit the market over lunchtime and sample some of the locally sourced sizzling hot food stalls that will be on offer. As well as gourmet hotdogs and paella you’ll find Not Just Suishi, Jurassic Seafood and Gluten Free Somerset as well as plenty more to be tempted by. The Super Sunday also offers international cuisine with Italian classics from Mercato Italiano and Greek Deli Specialities too. Don’t miss the ingenious flavours of Forager Spirits as well as the traditionally made and award winning ciders from Marshwood Vale Cider.

As well as foodie stalls you’ll find plenty of outstanding creations from local makers and designers. Shop for gifts with inspiring handmade jewellery from Secret Serenity, Silverstar Jewellery and more. Discover talented local artist Lucy Tidbury, Charlotte England and Abi H-Parker to name a few who will be showcasing their work and offering prints, cards and more for sale. You’ll also find unique, beautiful pieces for your home from Gemini Creations, The Botanical Candle Company and Buscombe Interiors. Don’t forget to bring along your canine companions and spoil them with treats made by the ever-popular Best Friends Bakery and Dorset Dog Delights!

By supporting the Shaftesbury Super Sunday you will be fuelling the many creative businesses the area has to offer and finding one-of-a-kind products that you know will have been made with care, love and attention.

Shaftesbury offers plenty of parking and is easy to access from the A30.

The next Shaftesbury Super Sunday is on the 20th March from 10am – 3pm.
