Sharky’s soft play centre has occupied premises on Weymouth Harbour for over twenty years, and will be closing on 18th February 2017.

Brothers in law, Keith Rupp and Jason Seale purchased Sharky’s Weymouth in 2007, when the play centre was the only indoor soft play facility in Weymouth. Previously the building had been occupied by the Deep Sea Adventure museum.  Trading conditions over the past 3 years have been tough for Sharkys, with rising business rates, rent and rising car parking fees plus diminishing customer numbers.

An opportunity arose within the current lease, and the managers have decided the time is right to close Sharkys Weymouth. Play facilities will continue at the Fun Factory on the Granby Industrial Estate, Weymouth. Sharky’s customers will continue to have excellent soft play facilities, benefit from FREE car parking, FREE wi fi, a larger café and extended outdoor play facilities. All of the Sharky’s staff from the Weymouth business have been offered positions at Sharky’s Fun Factory on the Granby Industrial Estate.

Jason Seale, Manager and Co-owner of Sharkys Weymouth and the Fun Factory said “It is a sad time for the business, but it does mean that Keith and I can really explore the opportunities that are available to us by focusing on one play centre. We will be improving the purpose built Quasar – Elite Laserzone on the first floor at the Fun Factory as this is ideal for older children, teens and adults.  Introducing a third Party room on the ground floor to accommodate large groups and improving our outdoor facilities.  We also intend to introduce “Pop Up Play” events during the year with new events, BBQ’s plus attractions throughout the summer season in the garden.  Internally we intend to extend the under 3’s toddler area and add more features to the main play frame.  All of the new activities will be listed on the Facebook page.”

Sharkys will continue to offer employment to over 25 members of full time and part time staff and offer first class indoor play facilities for visitors and their families.
