This week I would like to feature Rishi Ludgate, as my next artist at Trinity, Ninety Degrees.

Rishi is a well respected local artist whose work is featured in collections around the world. She is best known for her stunning wildlife art. However she has other strings to her bow. She also creates some very dream like surreal images, such as mermaids, maidens and water snakes to name but a few.

Always involved in what is happening on the local scene, Rishi Ludgate is a prominent member of the creative community in Bournemouth and beyond.

Last year she started up the Shards Exhibition at the BIC. She did this in partnership with local sculptor Linda Joyce, and with the support of the Arts University at Bournemouth. It was the largest exhibition put on in Bournemouth so far. Located at the BIC it was seen by many people and Rishi and other artists including myself sat in residence, creating our artwork and chatting with the public. It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase ourselves

This year Shards is back with a vengeance, with more themes and ideas. The exhibition will open at the BIC on the 1st August 2014, and will be on show for six weeks.

Rishi has started experimenting with new media, so please come along either to Trinity on Roumelia Lane to see her work, or come and meet her at the BIC in August and see the best of Bournemouth Art in this now annual extravaganza. For more information, search SHARDS EXHIBITION on Facebook, closing date for submissions this year is the 18th May 2014.
