The Sovereign Shopping Centre, in Boscombe, is launching an exciting regular monthly event schedule, suitable for all ages of the community. Each month three events will be taking place including a Band Day, Sovereign Senior’s Day and Family Day.

Band Day will run every second Saturday of the month and is aiming to give visitors to the Centre an opportunity to enjoy live music from local talent. The first event is taking place on 13 October from 2pm until 4pm, with the band TiME playing timeless classics from the 50s, 60s and more.

Sovereign Senior’s Day will be held on the third Tuesday of the month offering a social event with free tea and biscuits. Each month will provide the older visitors to the Sovereign Shopping Centre an entertaining event, a place to receive advice or be made aware of particular issues. The first Sovereign Senior’s Day is on 16 October from11am until1pm and will give visitors to the Centre an opportunity to have an informal chat with the local community police about safety during the Halloween period.

Family Day will provide a whole lot of fun for every member of the family and is being launched on Wednesday, 31 October from 2pm and 4pm with a Halloween Party. The event will give the opportunity for children and parents to get involved in the Halloween spirit by dressing up for the fancy dress competition, guessing the weight of a pumpkin to win a great prize and enjoying some tasty Halloween treats. From November family days will then run every fourth Saturday from 2pm–4pm.

This year the Sovereign Shopping Centre has chosen to support the Jon Egging Trust and donations will be collected at various events by Terry Trevett – the Chairman of the Bournemouth Red Arrows Association.

Ray McGlynn, Centre Manager, said: “We are very excited about the new program of events for the local community and visitors to the area to enjoy. We are looking forward to bringing all ages of the community together and having lots of fun, while raising awareness of particular issues and providing advice. We look forward to seeing everyone at the events kicking off in October.”

The Sovereign Shopping Centre contains over 40 shops with high street brands alongside local retailers all providing everyday value.
