Returning after a spectacular event in 2014, this year’s Waterfest Weymouth has extensive support from local and international businesses.

Waterfest Weymouth, held on Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th September this year, celebrates Weymouth’s maritime heritage with sailing, diving, crafts, shanty music and exciting aquatic displays in Weymouth Harbour.

Support comes from main sponsor Weymouth BID, Weymouth SEA LIFE Adventure Park as headline sponsor with with Dutch Lager Company Oranjeboom as leading sponsor, Dream Cottages as category sponsor and, Pengilly’s solicitors supporting the launch deck party on the French Schooner Le Marité.

The festival provides a great method for local businesses to showcase their services and products as well as allowing visitors to experience what Weymouth has to offer.

Tamsin Mutton-McKnight, General Manager, Weymouth SEA-LIFE Adventure Park and Jurassic Skyline said “Weymouth SEA-LIFE Adventure Park is delighted to support Waterfest as a headline sponsor. Waterfest is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Weymouth’s maritime heritage and the importance of our coastline.

Joy Sangster, Sales & Marketing Director, Dream Cottages said “We are proud to be a sponsor of Waterfest.  It’s great to be involved in such a fun event which is growing in popularity.  Waterfest has a great feel good factor, enhancing the whole area and boosting the local economy as well as being a must visit event for guests who are visiting Dorset.  The team at Dream Cottages can’t wait to join in the fun this year.”

Waterfest Weymouth’s main site is set around Weymouth’s historic old harbour; the perfect location for a maritime festival. The quayside is divided into specialist areas each focussing on sailing, maritime activities, crafts and underwater exploration which includes the Royal Navy Dive Tank. In addition to this there will be shanty music, over 25 stands selling delicious food and maritime related items as well as a programme of entertainment both onshore and afloat.

Steve Newstead, BID Chair, said “Waterfest Weymouth is a great event and brings visitors into the town out-of-season which helps the BID deliver one of the aims in the business plan. After the success of last year, we are looking forward to a fantastic festival this September.”

Organiser Roger Dalton said “This year sees the return of the French tall ship, Le Marité and Aquatic Jetpack displays alongside other new additions to the line-up. With the backing of the businesses we can make this year’s event bigger and better; we are really looking forward to Septembers’ event.”
