The use of Stop and Search by police against Black people in Dorset has reached unprecedented levels. Black people are now 31 times more likely than white people to be stopped under these powers. Shockingly, this is the highest rate of Stop and Search of an ethnic group of any police force in the country. It is also a 100 per cent increase in Dorset over the past two years.
It is clear that Stop and Search in Dorset is influenced by racial profiling. We demand that Dorset Police immediately desist from race-profiling and that the force implements community engagement training that includes input from Black and Ethnic Minority communities.

Obviously it is not just Dorset. The institutional racism in the police force and in society as a whole has been seen explicitly in recent times. Many claim not to be racist but unfortunately their behaviour leaves others wounded, frustrated and angry.
Over the weekend the country had to witness yet another example followed by a pack of lies and eventually an apology.

Unless we all do our best to overcome the prejudice and bigotry that we have been encumbered with we are part of the problem.
NO ONE WOULD WANT TO BE REMEMBERED AS A RACIST BIGOT.
