  • In typical Camp Bestival fashion, the weekend’s first Castle Stage rave saw children, parents and grandparents singing and dancing, with Utah Saints and Mister Maker setting the tone for the rest of the weekend.
  • Family favourite, Hacker T Dog brought out Hey Duggee for a crowd sing-along to a backdrop of an Idles live performance of the Stick song.
  • The first headliner of the weekend, McFly played a nostalgic set which got hundreds of people at the Castle stage singing and dancing during the whole duration of their set which was jam packed with hit after hit. The iconic band brought super-fan Gracie on stage to join them in a special performance of All about you where she played alongside drummer Harry. The lucky youngster who was wearing a McFly t-shirt was almost brought to tears as she realised she could keep the drumstick.
  • Camp Bestival’s brand new Navigation Town opened up with its own parade – as families joined Navigators with their wondrous machines and stories, lanterns and music and circus acts and navigated their way through the evening as they paraded from Navigation Town gathering bands and artists along the way, after singing the Camp Bestival anthem.
  • The ever-so-popular Camp Bestival Slow Motion area saw families with adults and kids alike soak in some guided relaxation, with dozens of ice baths being taken and several sleep and yoga retreat sessions taking place over the course of the day.
  • Other acts on the day included Undateables legend Daniel Wakeford, singer-songwriter rapper Hak Baker, iconic electronic duo Orbital live, the original Reggae selector David Rodigan and all-round family favourite Gok Wan. The weeknd is set to see over 350 artists and acts perform across the festival.
  • Day three (Saturday, 27 July) is set to be out of this world, as over 30,000 families show off their outfit creations in response to this year’s theme: Intergalactic aliens and space.
