Lessons in business look likely to help boost enterprise in Weymouth & Portland.

Up to 20 people interested in starting their own business recently came together to celebrate completing an Enterprise Training Course.

They met at the Enterprise Club, which was held at Weymouth College on Thursday. (9/10) The club aims to support new businesses.

The club and the training courses are supported by Weymouth & Portland Borough Council Councillor Mike Byatt, borough council brief holder for Corporate Affairs and Continuous Improvement, said: “It is great news for Weymouth and Portland that there are a lot of enthusiastic and enterprising business people who are just starting out. I wish their enterprises every success.”

The event was also attended by representatives of Weymouth and Portland Chamber of Commerce and training provider WSX Enterprise.

Councillor Byatt added: “The borough council supports growth in the economy through our partnership with WSX, by assisting people who want to become self-employed or start their own business. This has been a very successful programme leading to several new small business start-ups and hopefully many more in the future.”
