Information sought following suspicious fires in Bridport

Officers investigating suspicious fires involving bins in Bridport are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Dorset Police received a report at 2.09am on Friday 24 June 2022 from the fire service in relation to a bin fire in West Street.

A second bin fire was reported at another location in West Street at around 2.25am and another was subsequently reported in St Swithins Road.

Officers have been liaising with the fire service and the cause of the fires is believed to be suspicious.

Police Constable Kirsti Frecknall, of West Dorset police, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into these fires, which we believe were caused deliberately, and I would urge anyone with information that might assist our investigation to please come forward.

“I would like to hear from any witnesses or anyone who may have captured anything relevant on dashcam or home CCTV systems.”
