STOP TALKING DOWN OUR TOWN
It was disappointing to see Nigel Farage posting nationally last week, recycling an old photo from 2024, to talk Bournemouth down. That damages our town.
Our restaurants, bars, cafes, hotels and shops depend on people coming here. Talking down our town hurts those businesses, risks people’s livelihoods, jeopardises people’s jobs. Normal people, just trying to get by, some with families to support.
Just as disappointing that Bournemouth West Reform chose to repost his comments locally as well. Bournemouth does have real issues, but just what that achieves for anyone is far from clear when Reform now has an opportunity to genuinely improve our town.

This May’s newly created Bournemouth Town Council has unallocated funds. Some of that money could be spent on more patrols, reducing crime and anti-social behaviour, and on improving our area, making it more inviting, encouraging more visitors, not less, and supporting our businesses and the people whose jobs depend on customers, instead of scaring them away.
Reform has the majority of seats on the new council. It is time for them to stop damaging our town and do something positive about the issues that are real.
