Officers investigating an assault on a teenage boy in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
At around 6.30pm on Sunday 14 August 2022 the victim – a teenage boy from Wiltshire – was with his friends on the beach near to the Jubilee Clock Tower when he saw a group of men speaking to girls inappropriately.
It is reported that the boy intervened and was subsequently assaulted by one of the group.
The male offender is described as Asian or Indian, aged in his late 30s or early 40s, five feet ten inches tall and of stocky build with long black hair tied in a bun and a full beard. He was wearing a red T-shirt, dark-coloured shorts and a turban.
Police Constable Dan Goswell, of Weymouth police, said: “Our investigation is continuing and it has since come to light that the victim may now require surgery as a result of the injuries he sustained.
“I am aware the incident was a few weeks ago, but I understand the beach may have been busy at the time and I am keen to hear from any witnesses.
“Also, I would particularly like to speak to anyone who recognises the man from the description given.”
