The far right, including Nigel Farage, are “colluding with Putin and Russia”

A quick taster:

Crimea Annexation: Farage criticised the West’s response to Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014, suggesting that the West provoked Putin by expanding NATO too close to Russia’s borders. (For the record, I agree.)

Russian Sanctions: Farage has spoken against imposing heavy sanctions on Russia, arguing that they could be detrimental to the UK and other European countries. He has called for a more nuanced approach to dealing with Russia, which some perceive as a less confrontational stance towards Putin’s government. Farage’s backers to Russian banks and financiers would have nothing to do with this, would it?)

Syria Conflict: Farage has been critical of Western intervention in conflicts such as Syria, expressing a view that it often exacerbates the situation. This aligns with Russia’s stance against certain Western interventions. (For the record, I agree.)

Russia Today (RT) Appearances: Farage has appeared on Russia Today, a state-funded media outlet, which some critics see as giving legitimacy to Russian propaganda. However, Farage has defended these appearances as a means to reach a wider audience with his views, rather than expressing support for the Russian government. (The UK government has blocked Russia Today as it has its own propaganda to promote.)

Whether one agrees with these pronouncements and actions is not the issue here. The issue is that for those who oppose Putin’s campaign in Ukraine, they cannot have it both ways.

Farage supports Trump, and Trump supports Putin. Do the maths

Yes, I know this is CNN, but sometimes even the corporate media have a good moment.

Nigel Farage has always been on the wrong side of history and humanity. That is not to say that he does not say things that many can align with. It is his motives and style that are the problem.

One can be a revolutionary and a thoroughly decent and likeable person. Or one can be Nigel Farage. However, one cannot be both.
