The Great Exhibition of Boscombe marks the start of the Hip Hop History Month with a weeklong series of break dance and graffiti battles, demo’s and workshops, culminating in a Hip Hop roof top take over at the Sovereign Shopping Centre car park on Saturday 31st October 2015.

Showcasing the finest hip hop elementsthe Great Exhibition of Boscombe plays host to internationally renowned and local artists, dancers, DJ’s and MC’s with Bournemouth’sB-Line Recordingswho will also be supporting Public Enemy at the O2 in December.

Hip Hop fans will be able to take part in break dance workshops with local Bboy legend KapOne, and see their Hip Hop heroes battle on the roof with a line up of the best in UK MC & DJ talent including Oracy, the Bitterati, DJ Jabbathakut, with special guest BBoy’s Mouse and Bournemouth’s legendary Second to None dance crew among many others.

Project manager Clare Belmont Project said:“The Great Exhibition of Boscombe is the perfect prelude to November’s official Hip Hop History month with the festival’s aim to inspire young people by sharingthe wisdom of true Hip Hop culture – respect, peace, unity, love and having fun, knowing no prejudice and taking care of yourself to achieve your goals’’.

 Clare added: ‘’Throughout the week we will be offering free workshops and competitions with special guests from the best in the industry to inspire our local young and emerging artists. The finale on the roof is a celebration of all we have achieved in the week, with a lasting positive message, thanks to the team at the Sovereign Shopping Centre, funders and supporters’’.

 The Great Exhibition of Boscombe celebrates the rich history and art influences of this unique seaside suburb of Bournemouth with a weeklong free arts festival that runs from the 24th – 31st October 2014, 10am – 4pm daily.
