The Israeli far right are recreating the Old Testament in Gaza genocide campaign

From the 1,100 BCE Amalekite Genocide fast forward to Gaza 2023

Over thirty years, from the 1960s to the 1990s, there were one thousand seven hundred British deaths from IRA bomb attacks, but, no less, the British government did not order mass bombing and annihilation of the civilian population in Northern Ireland.

That now, based on the evidence before our eyes and the declarations of Prime Minister Netanyahu, is what is happening in Gaza.

After nine weeks, could it be clearer that the Israeli declared “annihilation of Hamas” is all one indiscriminate annihilation of the civilian population of Gaza?

Look across world media and world leaders after leaders condemn the unremitting onslaught on Gaza men, women, and children. Hospitals, refugee camps, residential buildings, aid agencies, and water supply plants are all being destroyed.

The Gaza population is told to move south. Then driven into smaller and smaller enclaves. As declared by the Netanyahu government in Israeli policy papers, Israel is to be driven into the Sinai desert.

António Guterres, General Secretary of the United Nations, said, “Killing of civilians in Gaza unparalleled and unprecedented”.

Médecins Sans Frontières – Gaza: “The Situation is catastrophic. “The hospitals are overwhelmed. Patients are being operated on in corridors with no anesthesia.

For the Israeli government, the Gaza war is a war of good against evil. Civilisation against barbarism. Light against darkness. Prime Minister Netanyahu: “With deep faith in the Justice of our cause.”

But then this messianic call to arms refuses to face up to a century of colonial European Zionism that has taken over Palestinian lands since the 1920s. Since the 1918 British Balfour accord with British Jewish Zionists, represented by Lord Lionel Rothschild. Palestinians, in their hundreds of thousands, have been driven off their own lands in Palestine for over a century. A century of ethnic cleansing.

If as Benjamin Netanyahu believes and tells the world, Israel is the civilised moral force in this conflict, then his government would not be carpet bombing the whole Gaza strip. They would be addressing the root causes. For Palestinians Al Nakba – the Great Catastrophe. 100 years of European Zionist appropriation of Palestinian lands.

Genocide before the eyes of the world:

Prime Minister Netanyahu has declared time and again since the October 7th attack on Israel that Palestinians in Gaza will be annihilated. This is presented as “annihilation of Hamas,” but as we see all too clearly, this is all one massive destruction of the civilian population of Gaza. According to the world, Hamas cannot be destroyed in tunnels and cannot destroy the civilian population living in the towns and cities.

To quote Netanyahu’s declarations of genocide: “We will take mighty vengeance for this black day. We will take revenge for all the young people who lost their lives. We will target all of Hamas’s positions. We will turn Gaza into a deserted island. To the citizens of Gaza, I say you must leave now. We will target each and every corner of the strip.”

This statement was made nine weeks ago, on October 8th, when large sections of the Gaza population moved south only to be bombed and shelled into smaller and smaller enclaves in the south.

And from Netanyahu in October: “The entire people, and the leadership of the people, embrace our soldiers and believe in them. ‘Remember what Amalek did to you’. We remember, and we fight.”

Remember the Amalekites” is the most critically revealing statement that Prime Minister Netanyahu has delivered of all his war declaration statements. It refers to 1,100 BCE Israeli massacre of Amalekite enemies, “men, women, children, and livestock”. As commanded by Israeli leaders of the time, “no living thing is to be left alive.”. This is well understood in Israeli history (Samuel 15:3.. A call for genocidal mass annihilation of an enemy. In this case, it is now the civilian population of Gaza.

As is further explained in detail in, for instance, Theology Blogging: Amalekite genocide 1,100 BCE.

And from Netanyahu in October following the Hamas attack : “The Bible says that ‘there is a time for peace and a time for war.’ This is a time for war,” “We will resign Hamas to the dustbin of history”.

And from Defence Minister Yoav Gallant: “I say here, to everyone, we will wipe out this thing called Hamas.” “We will wipe them off the face of the Earth. It will not continue to exist.”

The evidence is overwhelming. Incontrovertible. In the declarations of Netanyahu, and his ministers, and what we see before our eyes in world media, the population of Gaza is to be destroyed.

To the world Israel presents this as Israel “defending itself.” Defending itself by destroying mortal enemy Hamas. But then, as we see week after week, destroying Hamas is all about destroying the civilian population in Gaza.

In the estimation of many around the world, the horror of October 7th is not just an understandable justification for Israel to launch war against Hamas but, on a far larger scale, a pretext to release long held expansionist determinations to drive all Palestinians out of Gaza. This is made clear in Israeli policy papers: Options for a policy regarding Gaza’s civilian population 13th October 2023. And for instance, international Al Jazeera: October 7 Israel pretext to pursue genocidal policies in Gaza.

It’s impossible to see how, in modern history, we could have a clearer case of genocide broadcast into our homes week after week. Genocide has been cited by so many world agencies and leaders. The UN Office for the Coordination of Human Affairs says, “Genocide in Gaza Israel escalates targeting of schools housing.” And Amnesty International: Damning Evidence of War Crimes.

All in all, you can only say that it defies human intelligence that any overwhelming military force, demolishing a civilian population, can be seen as anything but a case of genocide. That any government can claim nine weeks of remorseless bombing is a country “defending itself”? All the same, Germany in 1940 claimed it was defending itself, blitzing British cities month after month.

And so it is Benjamin Netanyahu Israel’s genocidal mass destruction of Gaza, in accordance with scripture 3,000 years ago. Not a shred of respect for 21st century international human rights. There is not a shred of respect for the Geneva War Conventions for the protection of civilians.

Has Israel become a fascist state?

Following the October 7th Hamas attack on Israel, the UN General Secretary condemned the killings and massacres, but no less, laying out the facts, Israel-Palestine history, that “the attack did not come out of a vacuum”. There is a century of violent history, the General Secretary was roundly condemned by Israel.

And Netanyahu declares, “This is a time for war.”. As backed by the US and UK governments and some EU governments. Leaders and many with personal beliefs rooted in war and “winning”. No matter the bloodshed and casualties.

The great tragedy for humanity is that every USA manufactured bomb dropped on Gaza costs 30,000 dollars, which would buy a lot of medical aid. Every US manufactured F-16 bomber costs the same as building a dozen schools. The cost of one almighty USA nuclear carrier would require large numbers of hospitals for the people of Palestine or any number of countries.

But as it is, as with Ukraine and Russia, now with Israel and Palestine, the world is drawn into another war, and in this case raising the question, has Israel, with an ultranationalist government backed by ultra-Orthodox and Zionist parties, become a fascist state?

Many world commentators make this case. An overwhelming case has been unknown since the Rwandan genocide of 1994 or the Pol Pot Cambodian genocide in the late 1970s.

US Public Broadcasting Service: Israel swears in the most right wing government in Israel’s history.

Netanyahu the godfather of modern Israeli Fascism: “Warnings about Israel heading towards a fascist theocracy or sleepwalking into Jewish fascism have multiplied”.

To quote Benjamin Netanyahu 2018 : “The weak crumble, are slaughtered, and are erased from history while the strong … survive”. From all his statements and actions, how can anyone say this is not the language of fascism? Could not be more antithetical to Human Rights.

And keeping this in mind, the leader of Israel Netanyahu indicted on criminal charges for fraud, bribery and breach of trust. A Prime Minister was indicted for “breach of trust,” and the same Prime Minister actioned legislation set on rolling back accountability of government and Ministers to the Judiciary.

Is this not all the hallmarks of a classic hard right authoritarian government? With mass bombing of a civilian population and the emphatic declaration of Amalekite genocide, is this not a blatant case of mass murder of a civilian population?

In the end, the truth must come out. As hard and unpalatable as it may be. The overwhelming evidence we are facing in Israel is fascist genocide, and personally, I am beyond appalled that our country, the UK, will not make a stand. As we have seen all to clearly in the UN Security Council 8th December. The UK is abstaining from support for a cease-fire.

And this in the face of so many nations and world-wide media groups speaking out in horror at the shear inhumanity of Israel:

Ethnic Cleansing Colonisation. “The Jewish people have an exclusive and inalienable right throughout the Land of Israel.” “A matter of implementing the vision for the final solution to the Palestinian question.”

Fascism is already there in Israel – Jewish Professor of the Holocaust.

Israeli extremists propelled to power accelerating global neo-Fascist trend.

Einstein in letter to New York Times 1948: Expressing concern, the newly formed Israeli Haherut Party was formed out of a “terrorist, right-wing organisation, closely akin to methods used by the Nazi and Fascist parties”. Haherut Party is the forerunner of Netenyahu’s modern day Likud Party.

The world says for the Jewish Holocaust, “Never again.”. Jewish people say never again. Netanyahu is understandable in his ferocious “Never Again” reaction to the 7th October attacks. Have Jewish people not suffered enough? Just look at our history for thousands of years and centuries of pogroms in Europe.

But mass bombing a civilian population night after night goes far beyond any credible meaning of the right of any people to defend themselves.

All those claiming a German blitz on UK civilian cities in 1940 were “defending Germany”. And the world agrees. What is happening in Gaza is retribution. In Netanyahu’s own words Mighty Vengeance. Genocide.

Deportation – to the Sinai Desert:

Plans are clearly afoot in Israel government to forcibly deport the population of Gaza to the Sinai desert. All the reasons the population was told in October to move south. And indeed, such plans can be traced back to the 1960s, and more definitively, in 2004, the Israeli General Eiland plan: “Israel needs to create a humanitarian crisis in Gaza compelling hundreds of thousands of Palestinians to seek refuge in Egypt”.

Tragedy beyond tragedy: we are in our world a thousand years or more behind where we could be if we stopped killing one another. More is spent on warfare every year than on world health. Or world education.

All the atrocities and horrors have been lost from sight, with currently 10,000 Palestinians reportedly being held in Israeli prisons. Arrested under Administrative Detention laws. No charges. No trial. Again and again, all the hallmarks of fascist regimes.

For Israel in 2023, the bleak totalitarian consequences when a state outlaws “All are equal under the law”. When a state overrides the judiciary. But when we look into this, we see Israel’s treatment of Palestinians breaches half of United Nations Declaration of Human Rights Articles. Laid out to protect all of us in this world:

Article 9: No one shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest, detention, or exile.

But then, as well as abandonment of Human Rights Israel is bombing civilians into obliteration with not a breath of concern for the Geneva Convention Protection of Civilians in War:

Article 20: “Persons regularly and solely engaged in the operation and administration of civilian hospitals shall be respected and protected.”

And how many hospitals has Israel bombed – killing thousands? Patients, medical staff, patients under-going cancer treatment, babies in incubators.

There is so much suffering in Gaza. But Netanyahu makes it clear that hearts have to be hardened. Hard as steel. This is the right thing to do. Annihilate your enemy. In accordance with the 1100 BCE Book of Samuel.

But the world cries out; we need a moving forward solution. Ceasefire and negotiations. The highest moral imperative is the sanctity of life. Not a Netanyahu annihilation final solution. Leave the Amalekites and genocides where they belong. Long in the past.

And that is clearly the direction of travel in our world of nations. In the UN 12th December 153 nations voted for a cease-fire. All major world nations, with the exception of the USA and Israel. 23 nations abstained, including, to their shame, the UK government.
