Will @RachelReevesMP obey instructions from the neoliberal IMF? Predictably, the IMF is peddling the myth that government spending is paid for by taxation, which is complete bollocks. The govt issues the currency, so it has access to all the money it needs. Taxation is essential to control inflation, create a value for the currency, and influence consumer spending, etc., but NOT to fund govt spending. The neoliberal establishment wants you to believe that a good society is unaffordable.
They want you to think that unless we pamper billionaires, they will emigrate, leaving us without the tax revenues to pay for the NHS, etc. But that’s a pile of horseshit. We don’t need wealthy elites. In fact these spivs are inimical to a good society. So, don’t be fooled by these crooks. A good society is there for the taking; we just need to stand together to demand it and not be sidetracked by Establishment shills like Reform UK, who are just playing the divide-and-rule game to maintain the economic status quo.
