After a fangtastic 2014 event ‘Freaky Streets’, is back for another spooktacular year! Freaky Streets is a Halloween celebration organised and delivered by Weymouth BID that provides fun activities for the October half term break in Weymouth Town Centre with a week-long trail and Freaky Friday.
From the 24th October and throughout the half term, visitors are invited to take part in a freaky hunt around the town centre. Participants are asked to follow the trail’s clues to collect the correct answers from creepy characters on walls and buildings in Weymouth’s streets. Entrants who collect all the answers and hand in the form to the Weymouth BID Office, 15 St Alban Street, by 1pm 2nd November could be in with the chance of winning some amazing prizes!
On 30th October don’t miss Freaky Friday, a day of ghoulish games and activities in the streets and businesses of Weymouth. Scary skateboarding displays, crazy circus skills workshops, Spooky Punch & Judy, in-store activities, music and fun with wizardly Wessex FM and much, much more! A children’s fancy dress competition will also take place with entrants being judged in the afternoon.
Entry forms for the trail will be available to download from weareweymouth.co.uk from the 23rd October.
Town businesses are invited to participate in a ‘Freakiest Window Display’ competition to win the coven-ted glass trophy by Stuart Wiltshire Glass, currently held by Steven May Hair Design, and landlords are invited to join in the ‘Spookiest Pub’ competition, which was won by The Black Dog Pub last year. The ‘Freakiest Window Display’ competition will be judged by participants of the Freaky Streets trail. Businesses are also asked to get involved by creating promotions for the week and dressing up on Freaky Friday.
