Dame Margaret Eve Hodge, DBE, born on September 8, 1944, has been involved in British politics for a number of decades, representing Barking as a Member of Parliament (MP) since 1994 within the Labour Party. Her political journey began as the Leader of Islington London Borough Council from 1982 to 1992, marking her commitment to career politics.
Throughout this career, Hodge has undertaken several ministerial roles, notably chairing the Public Accounts Committee from 2010 to 2015. Her family ties link her to Stemcor, a significant steel firm, where she remains a major shareholder. However, her tenure in local governance faced criticism due to inadequate investigation of child abuse allegations in council-run homes and a subsequent apology for defamation against a complainant.
Entering Parliament via a 1994 by-election, Hodge’s ministerial trajectory included roles such as Junior Minister for Disabled People in 1998, Minister for Universities in 2001, and a groundbreaking appointment as the inaugural Children’s Minister in 2003, earning a position on the Privy Council. Her portfolio expanded to Minister of State for Work in 2005, followed by stints as Minister of State for Culture and Tourism until Labour’s electoral defeat in 2010, after which she continued as a backbencher in the House of Commons.
Recent announcements indicate Hodge’s decision not to contest the upcoming general election, signalling the end of her parliamentary career. In a recent vote amidst the Palestinian-Israeli war, she notably opposed a ceasefire in November.
Margaret Hodge is a Zionist centrist who appears to despise not only democracy but decency.
She has been wrapped in controversy for most of her political career.
She is divisive and anti-unity
She is antisemitic
She is libellous
She is clueless
And now she reveals that she operates in a way similar to fascism when she disagrees with the democratic processes
