GB NEWS ALLOWS ME TO UTTERLY DESTROY THE DARK MONEY-FUNDED IEA ATTACK ON CLIMATE ACTION IN UK
Was very grateful to get the opportunity on GB News to expose the ludicrous maths behind the screaming billionaire media lies that the UK’s green transition will cost more than £7.3 trillion.
A farcical report from the notorious dark money-funded Institute for Economic Affairs got explosive coverage across the billionaire-owned media, which exaggerated the cost of Britain’s Green Transition by a factor of 25!
They claimed that the cost would amount to £7.6 trillion by 2025, when Neso actually calculated the net cost would be £0.3 trillion (0.4% of GDP to 2050), excluding the huge economic benefits to the wider economy of the huge investments, new supply chains and the massive increase in well-paid clean green jobs.
The CBI calculates that there are already 950,000 well-paid green jobs in the UK.
So what was the hilarious, childish maths behind the wild claims by the oil billionaire-funded propaganda think tanks?
What they did was add up the cost of all new EV cars and green energy investments over the next 25 years and state that this was the cost.
BUT in their calculations, all new fossil fuelled cars and new gas power stations needed to replace existing end-of-life power stations and cars cost nothing, and the fuel burned over the next 25 years also cost nothing!
The ECIU calculates that wind energy is already saving the UK £7 billion in reduced fossil gas imports from abroad.
I was delighted that, unsurprisingly, the friendly GB news presenter (Martin Daubney) was unable to refute any of this factual analysis.
BUT he then went on to raise a fair question. Why are UK electricity bills so high?
The billionaire media keep lying that it is because of the switch to cleaner green energy.
But nothing could be further from the truth!
As I pointed out, the vast majority of our bills consist not of fuel or green electricity costs but of a bevy of unrelated levies added to our bills.
These include £500 costs of Tory privatised National Grid and energy company profits, £100 penalty for privatised Grid failing to build the grid needed for cheaper green energy, unpaid consumer bill debt funding, VAT and the fact that grid prices are determined by the most expensive fuel , fossil gas, which has soared by 75% since the Ukraine invasion.

Daubney finished by saying that the public would buy into everything that I am saying if bills started to come down.
He is right.
Ed Miliband, the Energy Secretary of State, needs to go faster and further with removing these other unrelated levies.
He has made a good start by removing the legacy green levy of £150. Now the rest need to go.
Otherwise, we will lose the public support that we so sorely need to face down the flood of disinformation from the billionaire media and the oil billionaire-funded dark-money think tanks.
