Officers investigating a distraction theft and fraudulent use of a bank card in Poole are issuing images of a man and woman they would like to speak to.

At around 2pm on Tuesday 30 March 2021 the victim, a woman aged in her 80s, was putting her shopping into her car outside the M&S Foodhall in Lower Blandford Road in Broadstone when she was approached by a woman with a foreign accent who asked her for directions. As the woman was showing the victim a map, a man also approached and stood by them.

The man and woman left after a few minutes and the victim subsequently found her bank card had been stolen and had been used to withdraw £250 in cash from a nearby ATM.

Police Community Support Investigator Paul Bosley, of Dorset Police, said: “We have been carrying out a number of enquiries into this matter and have obtained CCTV images of a man and woman we would like to speak to as part of our investigation.

“We have made efforts to identify these individuals, but have so far been unsuccessful and I am now appealing to the public for anyone with information regarding their identities to please contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email [email protected] or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55210051034.
