‘I was sitting on a bench yesterday at the end of the day by Boscombe Pier watching a group of people, at least 150/200, who had come down for the day arriving in coaches. They collected all their rubbish in bags they had brought down and put them in the huge black bin. The beach was spotless when they left.
I have been a Bournemouth resident for 50 years. They are welcome back anytime.
Also I noticed how well all the families got on, playing together, so happy, with no screaming or shouting.’
With all the racist hate being sprayed around by some politicians and media, this genuinely made me feel choked. We must never forget that the race haters are in the minority. It’s just that they make so much noise.
