This is a heads up for anyone visiting the Jubilee Close Retail Park (B&Q, Halfords, Sports Direct) Weymouth

UKPC (UK Parking Control Ltd) have just added a small yellow note to the Weymouth Jubilee Close Retail Park Car Park stating that people leaving the site may be fined.

I parked there earlier yesterday as I needed to shop at B&Q as well as Sports Direct both of which are in this small retail park. I had no cash on me and so I walked to the nearest bank and returned to buy some ‘No More Nails’ from B&Q (I have the receipt) and buy some trainers (which were sadly out of stock).

Returning to my car I saw a UKPC plastic envelope on my windscreen which had a £60 fine enclosed. Many other cars had been issued with these tickets as the rules have clearly only just been changed and people tend not to check the signage every time they visit a local car park.

I have appealed my ‘fine’ … or charge as it really is. I parked there in good faith to use the shops for which the car park is provided. I am not going to rant about the way these rules have been changed only to say that a clearer sign should be temporarily displayed, but then of course the revenue of UKPC would go down and that’s not the idea is it.

If you know anyone who lives in Weymouth pls give them the heads up.
