Thomas Hardye School Facing Staff Losses Due To Government Cuts

Twenty staff and curriculum shrinkage is now a real threat at Thomas Hardye’s school according to their headteacher Michael Foley due to Conservative government cuts. The failure of all the sitting Conservative MP’s to increase the financial support required by Dorset schools is now about to hit them hard. Even with this threat Mr Foley stated that other schools were at an even greater risk as they had less reserve funds to fall back on.

With an 8% drop in real term funding between 2015 and 2020 and cuts in post 16 education since 2010 the shortfalls are an attack on pupils and their learning experience. Mr Foley went on to say that the attempt to introduce a more ‘fair funding formula’ had been botched.
