Officers investigating a public order incident in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

At around 3.25am on Sunday 27 March 2022 an altercation occurred between a man and a woman in Great George Street.

It is reported that the man was verbally abusive to the woman, threw her belongings from a car and made threats to kill her. The woman ran away to seek help. A mobile phone was damaged in the incident and a handbag and rucksack were stolen.

The man and woman are known to each other.

Police Constable Kam Mander, of Dorset Police, said: “This offence occurred in the early hours of the morning when the clocks had moved forward, and I know there were a number of people in Great George Street at the time who may have witnessed all or part of the incident. I would ask these people to please contact Dorset Police so we can take an account of what they witnessed.”
