Three men arrested on multiple charges following reported assault in Bournemouth

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a reported assault and robbery in Bournemouth.

At around 11.40pm yesterday, Wednesday 24 April 2019, Dorset Police was called by a member of public to reports of an assault taking place in Walpole Lane.

It is reported that four men assaulted another man who was said to be kicked while lying on the ground before a bag belonging to the victim was stolen.

The victim, aged in his 20s, sustained injuries to his face and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Officers attended and carried out a search of the area.

A 26-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. A 27-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm. A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent, robbery and possession of cannabis. They remain assisting officers with their enquiries.

Detective Sergeant Karen Penn, of Bournemouth CID, said: “A full investigation is underway into this incident and we are trying to trace an outstanding suspect.

“Following enquiries I believe there was a man and a woman who were in the area at the time and I would ask them, or anyone who saw them, to please contact Dorset Police.

“I would also ask for any other witnesses to come forward.”
