Three Wise Monkeys – a Modern day Parable

I wrote an article back in 2010 in an attempt to wake a few people up to the atrocities of our government. Recently there was a newspaper article suggesting that the government want a pay rise for all the hard work they do.

There’s an old expression “if you pay peanuts you get monkeys”. So on the theme of monkey’s I thought this was an apt article topic for my first post for Dorset Eye. (No offense as intended to monkeys in the writing of this article)

Three Wise Monkeys – a modern Day Parable

Wouldn’t it be nice if we lived in a world where we could wake up every day and know that everything was going to be OK?

Wouldn’t it be nice if we lived in a world where there were no wars, no poverty and no famine?

Where governments were run by conscious individuals whose sole intention was to support the people rather than their own devious agendas and filling up their pockets?

Wouldn’t it be great if we lived in a world were the banking system actually worked and that people didn’t have to worry about their retirement funds collapsing or having to lose their houses because the economy was in such a mess?

Wouldn’t it be great if we lived in a world where we had freedom of speech and the media actually told us the truth rather than selectively telling us what they want us to hear. Spreading lies and fear amongst the population in the form of creating separation so that as nations and religions we end up hating and fighting with each other?

Wouldn’t it be nice if the government treated everyone with dignity and respect, especially the elderly and those who are vulnerable.

Wouldn’t it be fantastic if people were valued and paid a fair wage instead of peanuts?

Wouldn’t it be great if those people who commit crimes are punished properly and where crime didn’t pay.

Well “wake up” you stupid monkeys because we don’t live in a world like this. This is what they want us to believe but things can change but only if WE change

It can change when all of us stop having the three monkey syndrome – see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil.

The world is now run by evil money grabbing, power hungry psychopathic lunatics whose sole aim is to make sure you end up having no voice whatsoever by brainwashing you all and by selectively telling you what they want you to hear, know and see.

Its about time the world changed and those lunatics that run the planet stopped treating us all like stupid  “monkeys” because nature has a way of making this stop.

You see us so called monkeys are not that stupid and we can make a positive change but only if we start taking our hands off our ears and our eyes and our mouths. But the question is how bad has it got to get before people start listening? Do you want to wait or do you want to end up looking like a real monkey?

There was a story which is based on research with monkeys on a northern Japanese island, and its central idea is that when enough individuals in a population adopt a new idea or behaviour, there occurs an ideological breakthrough that allows this new awareness to be communicated directly from mind to mind without the connection of external experience and then all individuals in the population spontaneously adopt it. “It may be that when enough of us hold something to be true, it becomes true for everyone.”

Sadly many of us monkeys have spent most of our time sitting in the zoo that these governments have created for us unable to think or speak for ourselves and believing in the world they have created for us.

It can be different but it’s really not just enough to just have awareness;  it’s going to require more than just a paradigm shift to create real change. It’s going to take more than a bunch of monkeys like those in north Japan who learn how to do things differently just by being around other monkeys. Just being “aware “of what is going on isn’t going to change anything.

Holding positive ideas and sitting around singing kumbaya or washing potatoes is not sufficient by itself to change the world. We still need direct communication between individuals, we need to translate our ideas into action, and we need to recognize the freedom of choice of those who choose alternatives different from our own.

And that means being brave! Taking our hands off our ears and our eyes and our mouths and making a difference!

A call to action

So whatever field you are working in, whether its politics, social care, finance, child welfare or any other place where you need to tell people what is really going on around us. Start by having a voice, stop saying everything’s OK and sticking your hands over your ears and your eyes in the hope it it will all go away.

Make 2013 the year for all of us to make a positive change. Not by just sitting there like the three uniformed monkeys because the “three wise monkeys” was just another lie that they wanted us to believe.

Because if we are not careful unlike the monkeys in Japan, there’s a good chance you will end up extinct like all the rest of the monkeys in the world.
