Town Centre BID to set out plans for Bournemouth’s future

–      Bournemouth Town Centre BID is hosting a business information and networking event at Canvas Loft Bar on the 25th January, 6pm.

Bournemouth Town Centre Business Improvement District (BID) is set to share its specific plans for developing Bournemouth Triangle and Poole Hill area on Wednesday 25th January at Canvas Loft Bar & Live Lounge, 45 Poole Hill, Bournemouth. Starting at 6pm, those in attendance will have the opportunity to network and hear the latest plans from BID representatives. Town Centre BID Director and founder of Koh Thai, Andy Lennox will talk about the benefits of the BID before discussing ideas for a new branding campaign for businesses in The Triangle and Poole Hill area.

With a vote for the renewal of the Town Centre BID due this year, BID representatives will lay out their plans for reinforcing Bournemouth as a major shopping and tourism destination. Talks will also include plans for supporting local companies, protecting jobs, and attracting new businesses, which will only be possible with the financial resources brought together by the BID.

Steve Hughes, Manager of Bournemouth Town Centre BID comments:

“In the next five years, we have big plans for improving the town centre, attracting investment, retaining talent, bringing in more visitors and persuading locals to make Bournemouth their shopping and leisure destination of choice. Highlighting our ambitions, we look forward to welcoming business decision makers from the local community to Canvas on the 25th January.’’

Established in 2012, the Town Centre BID is a not for profit company with a Board of Directors made up of representatives from local levy paying businesses. To date, they have invested almost £3million in raising the profile of the town centre. Successes have included an improved programme of Christmas attractions, including Bournemouth’s first outdoor ice-rink and the town’s spectacular seasonal illuminations. The establishment of a team of Town Rangers, who continue to make the town safer and more welcoming. Making it much easier for visitors to find their way around the town, they have developed a comprehensive way-finding map and signage system too. They have also provided and supported more year-round events in different locations across the town centre to add interest, vibrancy and increase footfall.

This event is aimed primarily at businesses in the Triangle and Poole Hill area but all town centre business owners or managers are welcome. Similar presentations on improving the town centre and the economic vitality of the local area will follow in the heart of the town centre and in Lansdowne in the next few weeks.
