A body believed to be that of a missing woman from Poole has been found following an extensive police search.
Officers from Dorset Police had been appealing for information about 26-year-old Krystal after concerns were raised for her welfare late on Monday, 15 June. Police received the initial report at 11.06pm, prompting efforts to locate her.
In a tragic development, Dorset Police confirmed that at 2.42pm on Friday, 19 June, they received a report that the body of a woman had been discovered on the beach at Hengistbury Head.
While formal identification has not yet taken place, officers have said it is believed to be Krystal. Her family has been informed of the discovery and is being supported by police.
Authorities have stated that the death is not being treated as suspicious. The matter has been referred to HM Coroner, who will determine the circumstances surrounding the death through the appropriate legal process.
The news brings a heartbreaking conclusion to the search and has prompted an outpouring of sympathy for Krystal’s loved ones. Police have asked that the family’s privacy be respected as they come to terms with their loss.
In a statement, Dorset Police said their thoughts are with Krystal’s family and friends during what is an extremely difficult and distressing time.
An inquest is expected to be opened in due course, although no further details have been released at this stage.
