Tragedy As Man Dies In Collision In Ferndown

Officers investigating a fatal road traffic collision in Ferndown are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

Dorset Police received a report at around 8.45pm on Saturday 22 February 2025 of a collision on the Ameysford Roundabout along the A31 in Ferndown involving a white Peugeot 308.

The driver of the vehicle – a 43-year-old man from West Sussex – was sadly pronounced dead after sustaining serious injuries. His family has been informed.

Road closures from multiple directions in the area remain in place while officers carry out a detailed examination of the scene.

Police Sergeant Richard Stroud, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of the man at this difficult time, and we have specially trained officers supporting them.

“This incident occurred on a very busy stretch of the A31, and I understand there were a number of motorists in the area who may have seen what happened.

“I would ask any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please come forward.

“Also, I am keen to hear from anyone who may have captured any dashcam footage to contact us.

“Finally, I would like to thank the public for their patience with the road closures while we investigate the scene.”
