Tragedy as man dies in collision in Poole

Officers investigating a fatal road traffic collision in Poole are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

A collision occurred at around 9.45am on Friday 24 June 2022 involving a blue Vauxhall Zafira and a pedestrian at the junction of Heckford Road and Wimborne Road.

Officers attended, along with the ambulance service, and the pedestrian – a man aged in his 80s – was taken to Poole Hospital for treatment to serious injuries. Very sadly, it was confirmed that he died in hospital on Monday 27 June 2022. His family has been informed.

Sergeant Richard Stroud, of the traffic unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the man who sadly died at this very difficult time.

“We are continuing to carry out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this collision and I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please get in touch.

“I would also like to hear from anyone with any dashcam footage that might assist our investigation.”
