Tragedy As Man Dies In Collision Near Wareham

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward following a fatal road traffic collision near Wareham.

Dorset Police received a report at 10.41pm on Thursday 21 August 2025 of a single vehicle road traffic collision involving a blue SEAT Leon on the A352 at East Stoke.

The road was closed between Wool and East Stoke to allow emergency services to respond to the incident and remains closed for specialist officers to examine the scene.

Sadly, a 44-year-old man from Weymouth was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin has been informed.

Sergeant David Cotterill, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who sadly died in this collision.

“An investigation is underway into this incident and I am appealing for anyone who saw what happened and has not already spoken to police to please come forward.

“Also, I am keen to speak to any motorists who captured dashcam footage of the manner of driving of the vehicle involved or of the moments leading up to the collision to please contact us. You may have vital information to assist our enquiries.

“Finally, I would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures are in place.”
