Following the tragic death of a man in his 70s, off the coast of Portland last week
a spokesperson for Dorset Police has confirmed that a man has died in the sea at West Bay.
“We received a report at 8.41am on Monday, July 21, of a man in need of medical attention at East Beach in West Bay.
“Emergency services attended, and very sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“His death is not being treated as suspicious and his family has been informed.
“Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this very difficult time.”
