Tragedy as Two Men From Poole Die in Collision

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward following a fatal road traffic collision in East Dorset.

Dorset Police received a report at 6.05pm on Saturday, 13 December 2025, of a collision that was believed to involve two vehicles – a black Audi A4 and a Blue Volkswagen T-Roc – on the B3078 near to the junction of Lumber Lane in Knowlton.

Emergency services attended and very sadly the drivers of both vehicles – a 24-year-old man from Poole and a 57-year-old man from Poole were both pronounced dead at the scene. Their families have been informed. There were no passengers in either vehicle.

Road closures were put in place to allow the emergency services to respond to the incident and for a thorough examination of the collision scene to be conducted.

Sergeant Richard Stroud, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of the two people who sadly died at this extremely difficult time.

“We are continuing to make enquiries as we seek to establish the full circumstances of this incident.

“I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please make contact with us.

“I would also ask anyone who was driving in the area around the relevant timeframe to please review any dashcam footage to see if they have captured anything to assist our investigation.

“Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding during the road closures. We recognise this causes significant disruption but is necessary to allow the emergency services to respond and for a detailed examination of the scene by our officers.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police online, via email at [email protected] or by calling 101, quoting incident number 13:408. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online using its website or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
