Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward following a fatal road traffic collision in East Dorset.
Dorset Police received a report at 9.53pm on Sunday, 7 December 2025, of a collision that was believed to involve a single vehicle – a white Vauxhall Grandland – on the B3082 Blandford Road near Badbury Rings.
Emergency services attended and very sadly the occupants of the vehicle – a woman aged in her 50s and a man aged in his 30s – were both pronounced dead at the scene. Their families have been informed.
Road closures were put in place to allow the emergency services to respond to the incident and for a thorough examination of the collision scene to be conducted. The closures remained in place into the morning of Monday, 8 December 2025, to enable a thorough search of the scene to be carried out.
Sergeant Dave Cotterill, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the two people who sadly died at this extremely difficult time.
“We are continuing to make enquiries as we seek to establish the full circumstances of this incident.
“I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please make contact with us.
“I would also ask anyone who was driving in the area around the relevant timeframe to please review any dashcam footage to see if they have captured anything to assist our investigation.
“Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding during the road closures. These are necessary to allow the emergency services to respond and for a detailed examination of the scene, as well as searches, to be carried out.”
