This Mother’s Day, Dorset Wildlife Trust (DWT) is offering a truly unique experience at the tranquil and relaxing Kingcombe Centre café, with a locally sourced two course roast dinner for £9.95 per person on Sunday 30th March.
The café, which is in the centre of a beautiful nature reserve in west Dorset, is run by local chef, Pete Thomson.
Pete said: “We want to give mum’s a well-deserved day off and a chance for families to come together and enjoy some great home-cooked food, followed by an afternoon stroll around the nature reserve, which is literally on the door step of the café. This time of year, the reserve is springing into life, with Brimstone butterflies flitting around, and new flowers, birds and insects appearing by the day.”
Kingcombe Meadows Nature reserve is the perfect place to roam for free to take in the sights and sounds of Dorset’s wildlife and get back to nature – the perfect way to treat mum to something different for the day.
Pete delights visitors with his flair and passion for fresh food by preparing everything from delicious cakes, to three course meals using only fresh ingredients, some of which are sourced directly from the ground at Kingcombe.
In the 2013 County Show,Pete was awarded 1st prize for his Apple and Rosehip Jelly, 2nd prize for his Pickled Beetroot and Quiche Lorraine, 3rd prize for his Dundee cake, and his Blackcurrant Jam was ‘highly commended’.
