Turbo Dynamics have noticed an increase in the number of BMW owners, whose vehicle feature the N54 engine (including a 335i and 535i), complaining of a ‘chattering’ wastegate noise.
The experienced engineering team at Turbo Dynamics, located in Christchurch, have developed a solution for the issue. The remedy involves constructing in-house custom made hardened sleeves for the wastegate arms and hardened wastegate bushes.
The extra layer of specially devised hardened material prevents any premature wear whilst allowing for a more ‘snug’ fix. This eliminates the annoying noise and restores the turbocharger back to its original OE tolerances.
Turbo Dynamics offer this repair as part of their Turbo Overhaul Service starting from £295 + VAT per turbo. The service also comes with a complimentary 12 month warranty.
