Two Exciting Events For Dorset Residents This Month

Lewis-Manning Hospice Care has announced a new programme of events in Dorset, titled the Sunflower Series: ‘In Conversation with…’.

Kate Adie CBE DL is the first guest in the series and shares her story on 12th March at Merley House in Wimborne. The discussion is hosted by Lewis-Manning patron Felicity Irwin DL.

Kate, a renowned journalist, has many fascinating tales to tell from her time as one of the UK’s most prolific war correspondents. She currently works for BBC Radio 4, presenting the station’s ‘From Our Own Correspondent’ segment.

Tickets for the event cost £25 per person. Doors open from 5:15pm, with an expected finishing time of 8pm. The money raised from ticket sales will go directly towards Lewis-Manning’s patient services, providing vital funding to the Dorset community dealing with life-limiting illnesses.

Lewis-Manning’s Muddy Dog Dash returns to Upton Country Park

Lewis-Manning is bringing back its annual Muddy Dog Dash event on March 28th at Upton Country Park in Poole. The fundraising day is the first of two Muddy Dog Dash events in 2026, with the second event taking place at Avon Heath in October.

Participants can take part in one of two courses, the 2.5km or the 5km course. Both course lengths have various obstacles, such as tunnels and wiggle poles. Everyone is welcome to take part, regardless of fitness levels or whether they own a dog.

The funds raised enable Lewis-Manning to provide ongoing support to those in the Dorset community. A donation of £50 could provide a session with a nurse and a therapy dog for a terminally ill patient.
