Officers have identified three people following a CCTV appeal for an alleged assault in Weymouth town centre.
At around 4.30am on Sunday 5 July 2026, an altercation occurred on The Esplanade.
Two men – aged 19 and 20 years old – who were nearby went over to intervene and were subsequently reportedly assaulted.
Following a CCTV appeal, two women and a man have come forward. No arrests have been made and enquiries into the incident are continuing.
Officers investigating an assault in Weymouth town centre are issuing an image of three people they would like to identify.
At around 4.30am on Sunday, 5 July 2026, an altercation occurred on The Esplanade.
Two men – aged 19 and 20 years old – who were nearby went over to intervene and were subsequently assaulted.
Both of the victims sustained serious injuries and required medical treatment.
Police Constable Chloe Seaward, of Weymouth police, said: “I am carrying out an investigation to try and identify those involved.
“As part of my enquiries, I am issuing an image of three people I would like to speak to and would ask anyone who recognises them to please come forward.”
