Is the undermining of the BBC an orchestrated attack by right wing billionaire corporate media owners?

It is very possible we are being played.

Manufacturing a situation where both ends of the political continuum and many in between are prepared to see the BBC whacked appears to be the reality. What better way to remove or subdue an institution than to get those who have historically supported it to turn on it?

The ‘left’ say the BBC news coverage is right wing and the ‘right’ say it is left wing. Then there are those who suggest that if both are complaining then it must be just right. The actual answer appears to be much more complex and certainly much more sinister.

In Australia the exact same forces are at play with the Australian Broadcasting Company (ABC).

‘The ABC is fundamental to our communities, crucial in a crisis, and the last bastion against an increasingly concentrated media landscape. But with the Morrison Government and Murdoch Press attacking from all sides, our public broadcaster is under threat. And what if the next step is to privatise it out of existence?’ is the preamble to the short film below.

Ring any bells? Attacks from all sides. The right wing government and billionaire news owners conspiring to undermine it. Australia is not the only place in which state broadcasters are being threatened with a whole range of sinister and manipulative methods.

The BBC is this country has seen a right wing takeover with leading pro government establishment people being put in to the positions of power.

There are countless articles online and on Dorset Eye that highlight how the BBC news focuses very much on retaining the establishment control of ideas.

And how establishment figures are either shoe horned in to powerful positions or are a distraction from who they really want.

From Charles Moore to Paul Dacre:

It doesn’t have to be like this as pointed out thoroughly by George Monbiot:

and Dan Hind who explains how only a democratisation of the BBC news… and the wider media will save it from being a mouthpiece of the corporate establishment.

Rethinking the BBC
Public Media in the 21st Century

If Rupert Murdoch and his neo liberal friends and foot soldiers are behind the assault on the BBC in the same way they have launched attacks elsewhere and the likes of GB News are the agents of the establishment voice they seek to put in their places then we are going to be herded even further away from reality.

The solution is reform. Radical reform. Democratising the BBC… is the fix not seeking to eradicate it. The public need to know the reality. Their reality. The establishment reality is not enlightenment. It is the cell we are stored in until we expire.

However, until the majority push back and wake up the billionaire corporate media will be doing everything to anaesthetise us even further. Therein lies the conundrum. Waking up whilst being put to sleep. Perhaps the only solution at this time is to abandon the whole corporate media for news and look to the light not the hypnosis.
