Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward following a serious injury road traffic collision on the A35 near Dorchester.
At around 3.55pm on Wednesday 12 March 2025 a three-vehicle collision occurred involving a blue BMW 420, a blue Vauxhall Agila and a grey Volkswagen Golf on the carriageway of the A35 Puddletown bypass near the layby for The Gingerbread Café.
It is reported that a collision occurred between the BMW and the Vauxhall travelling westbound, which subsequently led to a further collision with the Volkswagen which was travelling eastbound.
Officers attended with the ambulance service and a woman aged in her 70s was taken to hospital for treatment to serious chest injuries, which are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.
Police Constable Kier Dagnall, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this collision to establish the full circumstances and I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please make contact with us.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who was driving in the area and may have seen the vehicle before the incident or captured relevant dashcam footage.
“Road closures were put in place to allow the emergency services to respond to this incident and I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding during this period.”
