Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following an assault in Weymouth.

At around 7pm on Monday 19 July 2021 the victim – a 16-year-old girl from Somerset – approached a group of people on the Pleasure Pier to speak to them about their behaviour toward another individual.

One of the group started to shout at the victim, before he launched forward and headbutted her. She sustained a swollen and cut lip.

The offender is described as white with tanned skin, aged between 16 and 18 years old and of skinny build with short brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing black Adidas swimming shorts with stripes down the side and did not have a top on, but had a top draped around his neck.

Police Sergeant Richard Barnett, of Weymouth police, said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and may have witnessed what happened to please come forward.

“I would be particularly keen to hear from anyone who may recognise the offender from the description given or has any information about who was responsible.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email [email protected] or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55210115644.
