People can now look at visit-dorset.com wherever and whenever they like using the new mobile site.

The mobile site, launched this month by the Visit Dorset Tourism Partnership, allows people to view the website on mobile devices such as tablets or smartphones, access to the website on the move.

Visitors to the website have the ability to book accommodation, find great visitor attractions, source fantastic things to and find wonderful places to eat while out and about.

Nick Thornley, West Dorset District Council and Weymouth & Portland Borough Council Economy, Leisure & Tourism Manager, on behalf of the Visit Dorset Tourism Partnership said “The visit-dorset.com website has achieved over 1.7 million visits in the last 12 months and 40 per cent of these visitors viewed the website via a mobile device.

“We felt it was vital to invest in the mobile website in recognition to the growing trend in mobile browsing. This is just another step in highlighting Dorset as a leading visitor destination.

“With the bank holiday weekend fast approaching there is no better time to check out the new website on your mobile device and plan a fun packed weekend in Dorset.”

The new responsive website has been developed by website specialists New Mind | tell Us. The site adapts to all screen sizes of different mobile devices, allowing visitors easy access to information about Dorset. The clean crisp design makes finding the information simple with easy to use navigation and increased usability.
