Following the success of last week’s litter pick along the beach, Bournemouth Council’s seafront team have organised another to take place this weekend (Sunday 2 March).
Bournemouth residents are being invited to come to Fisherman’s Walkthis Sunday at 10.30am.
Volunteers wanting to take part should meet at the seafront office at the bottom of the Fisherman’s Walk zig-zag pathway.
All necessary equipment will be provided by the Council including hi visibility vests, bags, gloves and litter grabbers to help carry out the clean up, but if you have any those items please bring them along.
Over a hundred people turned up at Boscombe Pier last Friday to offer their help in clearing away litter which had built up on the beach as a result of the recent severe weather.
Chris Saunders, seafront manager, said:
“The response from members of the public to last Friday’s litter pick was fantastic and we really appreciated everyone who gave up their time to help. We know that there were many residents keen to support with the clean-up operation, but were unable to attend due to work commitments. By organising it for Sunday we hope even more people are able to come along and help return our award winning beaches back to their best.”
